Who we are

Ironbark Films was started by award-winning filmmaker & creative director, Julian Neuhaus, in 2019 with the vision to make purpose driven content.

After graduating from the Australian Film, Television and Radio School (AFTRS) in 2017, Julian began freelancing as a camera operator, editor and composer, but decided to establish Ironbark Films after seeing a need for more story-driven content. We’ve since built up relationships with some wonderful organisations, collaborators, clients and creative agencies so we can do what we love doing; create meaningful, world-changing, and captivating screen content that engages and connects with audiences the world over.

On average, a person sees approximately 2 hours of screen content per day, so driving engagement to your brand is no easy task, but our approach to any project hinges on delivering authentic and relatable stories which people can’t take their eyes away from. Every creative decision is driven by the story, progressing with each frame of film adding something worthwhile.

An intentional, purposeful creative practice; that is what creates compelling narratives, and we bring that mentality to every film we make.

Inclusive
Filmmaking

Inclusion might be a buzzword for some, but for us it’s bible.

To properly connect with an audience, we believe that there should be equal representation of diverse backgrounds, both in front and behind the camera. It doesn’t just make for a more positive work environment on our sets, it also results in more richness and complexity in the stories we tell, which in turn have an ability to engage a broader audience. As part of this initiative, we offer frequent employment opportunities to people who are neurodiverse or living with disability in partnership with Bus Stop Films Employment on our projects, facilitating opportunities for them to gain hands-on experience and develop universal skills to help create pathways to regular employment in the screen industry as we work to make it more inclusive & equitable for everyone.
